Gucalmole
For the past few weeks, I'm trying to master the art of making Gucalmole. Yesterday was the day it came out really well. I used dry red chillies, roasted the chillies and onions a little bit and ground everything. It tasted very nice.
Avocado is such a different fruit, its so creamy and buttery inside. The hard seed inside, is such a contrast to the fruit. I wonder why we don't get it in India.
Here is quick Gucalmole recipe
3- Avocado. Scoop out the fruit with a spoon.
2 medium size - Tomatoes Cut and seeded
1/4 cup - Onion
7- Dry Red Chillies
1/4 Cup - Cilantro
2 - garlic pods
salt to taste
Roast the chilli and onion together.
Grind all the ingredients in a mixer.

Have never tried this. But u can try the following with Avacado...scoop up the flesh and mix it well with sugar and milk. You would get a yummy custard.
We do have it in India, but is not popular. Only in the hills like Ooty and Kodai. Also we have had the custard served once in the prev office's lunch. They had scraped some raw Avacado too and hence it had a bitter taste and many didnt like it
I love Avocados. I've always searched for recipes to see if we can cook it Indian style.
Unfortunately none so far.
Also, here in California, we get plenty of them sometimes even from farms direct.
